Wine & Hors d’Oeuvres with the Boating Club

You are invited to a festive evening of Wine & Hors d’Oeuvres and fun on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 5 to 7:30 PM at San Marco Catholic Church Parish Hall on San Marco Road hosted by America’s Boating Club-Marco Island, also known as the Marco Island Sail and Power Squadron.

“If you love water activities and want to have fun meeting new people, this is a great event to attend,” said Gene Burson, Commander of America’s Boating Club -Marco Island. “In addition to enjoying wonderful food and wine, this is a chance to learn more about and support the educational work of the Club,” according to Burson.

The Club provides many benefits to residents and area visitors. Among the benefits are free vessel safety checks for boats, wave runners and kayaks. The Club encourages safe boating by offering boating education and skill courses with certified instructors to enhance enjoyment on the water. Its members also survey water markers/aids to navigation for our local governmental agencies to help insure safe waterways around Marco Island, Burson said.

“The Club organizes numerous boating outings to help its members gain practical experience.  You don’t need to be a boat owner to join in the fun,” Burson stated.

Admission to the Wine & Hors d’Oeuvres event, which is open to the public, is only $20 per person in advance ($25 at the door). In addition to a silent auction there will be a $250 door prize, 50/50 drawings and raffle prizes. The proceeds are used to fund the Club’s education program.

Tickets may be purchased in advance by contacting Sonya Benson at: or 414-617-5718.

America’s Boating Club-Marco Island is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, that is a unit of the United States Power Squadrons, a 104-year-old, 346 chapter, national boating organization.
