The Wheels BMX Track has re-opened at the Golden Gate Community Center, 4701 Golden Gate Parkway. The track recently went through a six month renovation project that included reshaping and resurfacing the track utilizing a Soiltac coating. This coating will not only save the County money in the long run by reducing maintenance costs but it will also allow for shorter downtime for riders during inclement weather. The new design includes jumps, table tops and rhythm sections, offering something for riders of all ages and abilities.
Wheels is now open from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 8 p.m. on Saturdays. Daily admission is $5 per person. You can buy an annual members for $10 for participants 22 and younger, and $25 for adults older than 22.
Wheels will host a BMX summer camp this year from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from June 8 to June 12, June 15 to June 19, July 6 to July 10 and July 13 to July 17. For more information, contact Edgar Zurita at (239) 252-4188.
