East Naples residents will have more convenient access to healthcare when Physicians Regional Healthcare System’s newest walk-in clinic begins operations in early in 2017.
A late January or early February grand opening is planned for the approximately 9,000-square-foot facility located off Thomasson Drive, near the intersection of Rattlesnake-Hammock Road and U.S. 41.
As with Physicians Regional’s three existing clinics, the facility will offer same-day appointments, family medicine, cardiology, gastroenterology, x-ray services, physical therapy, pulmonology services and critical-care medicine.
“There’ll be upwards of four to five providers at any one time,” said Physicians Regional Market CEO Scott Lowe at the new walk-in clinic’s recent groundbreaking.
Current growth and likelihood of more in the East Naples area provided the motivation for building the clinic, he added.
“There really is no walk-in access clinic in this area,” Lowe explained. “There’s a tremendous growth in the area that we obviously want to service the community and capture a market share of that growth.”
Aside from Physicians Regional officials, the groundbreaking was also attended by Collier County Commissioner Donna Fiala, representatives of the Marco Island Area Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Marco Family YMCA and the Naples office of Equity Construction Solutions, the project’s building contractor.
“This is going to be such a super thing for the area,” said Fiala in her remarks to attendees.
Physicians Regional also has walk-in clinics on Marco Island, located at 1839 San Marco Rd., in the Crossroads Plaza, located off Pine Ridge Road, and at its main campus, also located off Pine Ridge Road.
