“The Spirit of Bay Manor,” a world premiere by Joe Simonelli, takes place in a supposedly haunted house. However, is it really haunted? Five people gather to prove that the house isn’t haunted. The storyline succeeds as a frightening psychological thriller.
Directed by TMP board member and playwright Joe Simonelli, the play is staged in a house that the owner, Barry (Joe Simonelli), desperately needs to sell. The real estate agent Julie (Lori Sigrist) will only sell it if they can prove it’s not haunted. The niece, Emily (Shelley Gothard), whose aunt died mysteriously in the house is leery while the investigator (Paul LoPresti) and psychic (Suzanne Davies) add twisted turns to the storyline.
Simonelli’s 18th full-length play, “The Spirit of Bay Manor,” was first read last summer at a socially distanced Reader’s Theater performance. With the help of an operations grant from the Community Foundation of Collier County, we are excited to bring this world premiere to the stage. “We’re doing all we can to keep the arts alive and keep this theater open. We are grateful for the support given by our community and our loyal patrons who are making this happen,” says President Beverly Dahlstrom.
