Marco Island Center for the Arts invites the community to join in as it celebrates 50 years of bringing art to Marco and beyond at The Golden Gala on Saturday, February 1st, at 5:30 PM. The Golden Gala Chairs are Sue and Russ Darrow and the event will take place at the Hideaway Beach Club. This year the honoree will be The Island Country Club Foundation for its support of programs for children and youth. There will also be a Special Acknowledgement of former Board President, Rosemary Wick.
The Island Country Club Foundation has sponsored the youth programs at Marco Island Center for the Arts. President Gary Landis states, “Our organization donates money to 8-10 501 C-3 organizations each year. We have been able to continuously help Marco Island Center for the Arts fund youth programming each year.” The Island Country Club has donated over $78,000 since 2000 as a part of its “Community Matters” effort.
This year The Golden Gala will also honor the memory of Rosemary Wick. Rosemary Wick not only served Marco Island Center for the Arts as a Board President for 5 years, but was also a leader whose energy and personality imbued the entire organization with passion, creativity, and purpose moving forward into a new era of growth and prosperity.
