This is an 11-member committee created by Ordinance 91?65 as amended to monitor the implementation of the Affordable Housing Task Force’s recommendations, and the goals, objectives, and policies of the Housing Elements of the County’s Growth Management Plan and the City’s Comprehensive Plan. Terms are three years.
The Black Affairs Advisory Board has two vacancies for terms expiring on June 25, 2013 This nine member committee identifies and evaluates problems unique to the black community, reviews and recommends ways to ensure open communication between minorities and Collier County Government and provides periodic reports to the Board of County Commissioners. Terms will be four years.
The Conservation Collier Land Acquisition Advisory Committee has one vacancy for a term expiring on February 11, 2013. This nine-member committee was created by Ordinance No. 2002-63 and their primary responsibility is to recommend to the BCC an Active Properties Acquisition List with qualified purchase recommendations of environmentally sensitive lands consistent with the goals of the Conservation Collier Land Acquisition Program.
The Golden Gate Beautification Advisory Committee has one term expiring on October 6, 2011 representing Precinct #323. This five member committee assists the Board of County Commissioners in handling the matters pertaining to the taxing district which was formed for the purpose of beautification and maintenance of landscape improvements within the road right of way as described by ordinance boundaries. Terms are four years.
The Golden Gate Estates Land Trust Committee has two vacancies, one vacancy for a candidate to serve until October 13, 2014, and one vacancy for a candidate to serve until October 13, 2015. This five member committee serves in an advisory capacity to the Board of County Commissioners for the purpose of carrying out the requirements, conditions and various provisions of an agreement relating to the use of land, or funds derived from the sale of land, conveyed to the county by Avatar Properties Inc. (f/k/a GAC Properties Inc.). Applicants must reside within the subdivision known as “Golden Gate Estates.”

The Housing Finance Authority has three vacancies for new terms to expire on November 11, 2015. This five member authority was created by County Ordinance No. 80-66 on July29, 1980, pursuant to Chapter 159, Part IV, of the Florida Statutes as a governmental body authorized to issue tax exempt bonds. Not less than a majority of the members shall be knowledgeable in one of the following fields; labor, finance or commerce. Terms are four years.
The Radio Road East of Santa Barbara Boulevard to Davis Boulevard Advisory Committee has one vacancy for a new term that will expire on October 27, 2015. The five member committee was established on July 28, 2009 by Ordinance No. 2009-44 to recommend to the Board of County Commissioners an itemized budget of the amount of money required to carry out the business of the MSTU, recommend work programs and priorities in accordance with the adopted budget/budget amendments in carrying out the MSTU and may adopt guidelines to govern its operation and the operation of the MSTU, subject to approval by the Board of County Commissioners.
The Vanderbilt Beach Beautification MSTU Advisory Committee has one vacancy for a new term that will expire on November 13, 2015. This five member committee was established on July 31, 2001 by Ordinance No. 2001-43 to aid and assist the BCC in carrying out the purposes of the MSTU, to prepare and recommend to the BCC an itemized budget for the MSTU and recommend work programs and priorities to the County Manager. Members must be permanent residents within the MSTU. Terms will be four years.
The Value Adjustment Board is seeking applications for one alternate citizen member. The Value Adjustment Board considers recommendations of the Special Magistrates on tax petitions regarding exemptions, classifications, assessed values, and untimely petitions for the current tax year. Value Adjustment Board meetings are held in accordance with the Rules of Procedure to be adopted by the Value Adjustment Board, administrative rules promulgated by the Florida Department of Revenue, and applicable Florida Statutes. The citizen members must own homestead property within Collier County and may not be a member of or employee of a taxing authority and may not represent other property owners in any administrative or judicial review of property taxes.
The Water and Wastewater Authority has one vacancy for a new term that will expire on May 21, 2015, this is for a technical member. This five member council was established on February 27, 1996, by Ordinance No. 96?6 to regulate utility rates and related matters regarding non?exempt water and wastewater utilities in unincorporated Collier County. Three members shall be technical in nature, with expertise in engineering, finance and/or business administration. Members are required to file a Form 1 Statement of Financial Interests each year with the Supervisor of Elections. The terms will be four years.
