The community of Stevens Landing was thrilled when they learned they had won this year’s Marco in Bloom landscaping contest, sponsored by the City of Marco Island. On Thursday, April 22, they staged a brunch at their pool area to honor Rafael Rosas, the resort’s longtime handyman, who is responsible for much of the beauty of the property.
“Rafael Rosas is the main man in charge of the blooms,” said Ginny Roseberry, president of Stevens Landings’ Board of Directors.” As an employee of Resort Management, Rafael goes way beyond his scope of employment by sharing a vast knowledge of plants and garden design. His hard work and dedication to all aspects of our property is irreplaceable and greatly appreciated.”
Rosas had to be called away from his work to attend the party in his honor. When he saw the buffet table and the large gathering of the resort’s residents, he was moved to tears. Roseberry put her arm around Rosas and explained that everyone was there to honor him.
“Stevens Landing is a hidden jewel on Marco Island,” Roseberry said. “It is an honor to be recognized by the Marco in Bloom committee.”
