There’s snow in the forecast for Saturday, Dec. 6, as Collier County Parks and recreation hosts the 29th annual Snowfest. The event, which will be held from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., welcomes more than 15,000 people who want to see snow in Florida and celebrate the winter holiday.

This year, Snowfest will be held at a new location, the Golden Gate Community Center – 4701 Golden Gate Parkway, with new hours and many new attractions. These include:

SNOWGLOBE LIVE:  Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be in a snowglobe? Here’s your opportunity. And this attraction not only lets you experience the snowglobe, but will allow you to have a photo reminder of your time in the globe.

SNOWMAZING: This brand new attraction offers you the experience to get lost in the fun of winter! Find yourself in a maze in our snowman village.

POLAR PLUNGE: Take a ride down one of the largest inflatable slides ever seen.

EXTENEDED DAYS FOR CANRIVAL GAMES & RIDES: From 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4 and Friday, Dec. 5; from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6; and from noon to 11 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7.

Santa Claus will sprinkle holiday spirit with his elves as children enjoy 100 tons of snow! The event also includes Santa’s South Pole, an ice skating rink, Mrs. Claus’s Kitchen and a carnival.

Admission is $2 and children ages 3 and under are free.
