P.E.O., a philanthropic education organization that provides scholarships for women, will host a Christmas “Sip and See” Open House.
The event will be held at the home of Marian Harris, 7 Blue Hill Court, Marco Island on Friday, December 9, from 9:30 AM to 12 PM. A donation of $10 will be taken at the door. All proceeds will fund scholarships for women. Reservations are not required.
The event will focus on a wonderland of eleven Christmas trees. The beautiful display was started by Marian over 10 years ago. Each tree has a unique theme and is covered with ornaments collected during her extensive travels, as well as locally. There is an Uncle Sam tree (not to be confused with the White House tree), an under the sea tree, an upside down travel tree,a doggie tree, a dress mannequin tree, a jewelry tree, a fat lipped fish tree, a miniature ornament tree, and her personal favorite, this year’s wall hanging tree. The trees are decorated solely by Marian and take about two weeks to complete. Each year she hosts numerous parties to celebrate the Christmas season. This is a unique opportunity to get into the Christmas spirit, see Marian’s beautiful home, and enjoy each other’s company with drinks and homemade Christmas treats.
All proceeds will benefit scholarships for women. Last year two scholarships were given to local students. Duneshka Cruz, from Marco Island Academy, won the P.E.O. Star Scholarship and is now a student at Penn State University. Tatiana DaCruz, from Lely High School, won the P.E.O. Chapter GT Marg Mead Scholarship, and attends the University of Central Florida.
