Shell Club seminar



The Marco Island Shell Club will kick off its season of seminars on Thursday evening, November 3rd, at 7 p.m. The speaker is Mrs. Susan Cone, a Florida Master Naturalist and Certified Kayak Instructor.

Mrs. Cone, a former science teacher at Pine Ridge Middle School in Naples, will be analyzing a grain of sand and will allow her audience to see it as never before. She will share how it was formed, where it travels, and some of its unique characteristics.

Susan Cone is the owner of Up A Creek Tours where she has received rave reviews for her kayaking trips around the area. She is a skilled leader at Rookery Bay and is well versed in the history of this area and the flora and fauna of this beautiful part of Southwest Florida.

Susan and her husband compete in triathlons on a regular basis in their spare time.

These events are free and all are open to the public. The seminar is located at the United Church, 320 N. Barfield Drive in Marco Island. Refreshments will be served following the presentation.
