Collaboration is a beautiful thing, especially when it gives people a chance to see beautiful things. The United Arts Council of Collier County has teamed up with Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve for the “Seventh Annual Florida Juried Photography Exhibit.” The exhibit runs through March 21st, at the Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center.

“Close to 100 entries from 62 photographers were received,” explained Elaine Hamilton, Executive Director of the United Arts Council. All photographs entered represented either flora or fauna of Florida’s unique landscape. Twenty-five Florida-based photographers were chosen by internationally acclaimed photographer and juror for the show, Clyde Butcher.

Photographers selected for the exhibit are: Paul Allen, Chad Anderson, Timothy Bath, Mike Brousseau, John Brady, Eileen Maris Cohen, Marc Damon, Laura DePamphilis, Laurie Meehan- Elmer, Sallyanne Ferrero, Jim Freeman, William Hofer, John Johnson, Liz Keeler, Mike Landwehr, Charles McDermott, Doug McLarty, Jacke McCurdy, Gareth Rockliffe, Jane Ruprecht, Richard Sherman, Jeremy Sterk, Prem Subrahmanyam, RJ Wiley and Lisa Willnow.

“Photography is an important component of the arts community,” stated Hamilton. “The United Arts Council is thrilled to partner with Rookery Bay to showcase these outstanding photographs. Our juror, Clyde Butcher has done a great job selecting photographs that perfectly reflect the beauty in nature that surrounds us here in southwest Florida.”

During the February 5th Reception, Clyde personally announced the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winning photographs. Winners received cash awards. And the winners were:
