“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” – Mother Teresa.
On Wednesday, February 6th at 6:30 PM, award winning photojournalist Linda Schaefer, will give an inspiring presentation, “Come and See” – A Photojournalist’s Journey into the World of Mother Teresa. Linda began her career as a journalist for CNN in 1985, but found she had a passion for still photography. Linda also did freelance work for the Associated Press, & that lead her into documentary work and travel to different countries for assignments. Among other work, Linda has written a book, “Come and See,” encompassing her work and experience with Mother Teresa and will be offering it for sale with a book signing.
Linda was the last professional to be granted full access to the late Mother Teresa, Linda was asked to volunteer inside the orphanages, houses of the dying, and the leper colony run by the Missionaries of Charity. She will share her personal testimony of faith experiencing the compassion of serving the “Poorest of the Poor” with Mother Teresa of Calcutta, India and the Sisters of Charity.
Come and experience first-hand Linda’s incredible story and testimony, and be inspired to “cast a stone across the water”.
Linda is working on her second book on Mother Teresa, Prophetess of Our Times. This book begins in Rome, Italy October 19, 2003, for the Beatification of Mother Teresa. Linda was in the CNN skybox overlooking St. Peter’s Square when Pope John Paul II defined Blessed Teresa of Calcutta as “The icon of the good Samaritan.” Linda said, “This book will end on Christmas Day of 2012 in Rome with my son, facing St. Peter’s Basilica, the day after we were present inside for the homily by Pope Benedict XVI. It closes with a conversation I had with a nun who was celebrating her jubilee with her order after spending 28 years as a missionary in Ethiopia.”
Registration for this presentation is $18 pre-event and $20 at the door, which includes an appetizer and a glass of wine. Linda’s book will be available for purchase during the book signing following the presentation.
