The San Marco Catholic Church held its “Rainbow of Fashions” Jan. 28.
The Parish Hall was full to the brim with almost 300 ladies of all faiths in attendance. This is truly an “event” of the season with many of the ladies themselves dressed fashionably and ready for fun.
You can be sure an annual event has been happening for many years when no one can recall just how long. That was cleared up quickly when the fashion presenters were greeted and Kay from Kay’s on the Beach, who mentioned they would be celebrating their 39th year of business and that this was their 35th annual fashion show for the church.
In addition to Kay’s, Patchington’s wason hand to showcase their newest clothing designs, which included a line of accessories like handbags and wallets containing speakers and cell phone battery chargers.
All the attendees enjoyed fine food and good service prepared by the new Speak Easy restaurant, all while watching the parade of designs presented before them. There were rounds of cheer as winners of many fine auction items were drawn. There were several door prizes and a money raffle as well.
Proceeds benefit the many charities supported by the Council of Catholic Women, including St. Matthew’s House, the Shelter for Abused Women, Youth Haven and the Catholic Faith Appeal. The CCW also awards scholarships to select high school and college students.
All in all, everyone had a delightful time and are already excited for next year’s event.
