Quinn Hiaasen to Debut First Photography Exhibition

The Museum of the Everglades is excited to host an exhibit featuring the photography of Quinn Hiaasen, son of novelist Carl Hiaasen. On display November 1 through December 30, 2015, the exhibit showcases his passion for the environment, as well as his natural talents.

“Growing up on the waters of South Florida instilled in me an interest in nature, particularly of the complex domains that exist beyond the ecumene. As a photographer, I find it amazing to be able to explore places like these and share the dramatic landscapes and wildlife with others,” shares Quinn Hiaasen.

Visitors are encouraged to come meet the artist on Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 1-3 PM in the Pauline Reeves Gallery at the Museum of the Everglades. The event is hosted by the Friends of the Museum of the Everglades, and there is no charge for admission.

About the Artist: Quinn is the youngest son of novelist Carl Hiaasen. At age 15, he is showing a promising career in the arts. This is his first exhibit highlighting a collection of photographs capturing the pure beauty of the Everglades.

Located in historic Everglades City, three miles south of U.S. 41 (Tamiami Trail) and SR 29, the museum explores an in-depth look at over 2,000 years of human history in the area, and tells the story of adventurers stubborn enough to settle Southwest Florida’s lush “River of Grass.” Open Monday through Saturday 9 AM to 4 PM. The museum is located at 105 West Broadway Everglades City, FL 34139. Please call 239-695-0008 with questions or for information.
