Open Gym Tiny Tumblers: will be held every Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Mackle Park. Cost is $8/child, walk-ins are welcomed.


Camp Mackle: registration is now open for ages 6 – 11years of age. Camp Mackle will be open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning June 11 to August 21. For details and information to register please call Mackle Park at 642-0575.

Competitive Cheerleading with the Marco Magic: will be held every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mackle Park. This is a competition travel based cheerleading program, which focuses on tournament style cheerleading. Registration will stay open at monthly $40 rate. All travel and tournament fees are not included. Instructors include Lyndsi Koszo and Brittney Schneyder.

Hip Hop Kids Zumba: will be held every Wednesday afternoon from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Mackle Park. Cost is $5/child. Walk-ins are welcomed to attend. Hip Hop Kids Zumba classes are available for ages 7 – 14 years of age, no experience necessary.


MICKYS Sailing: learn to sail on the waters of Factory Bay. MICKYS is a US Sailing certified program with great teaching instructors. Camps are available for ages 8 – 12 years, from 9 a.m. to noon. Jr. Chefs: become a Jr. Chef this summer. We’ll mix, bake, create pastries and learn the art of decorating cakes. Pre-registration is required. Camp date: August 16 – 20, 9 a.m. to noon for ages 8 – 13 years.

Lacrosse Camp: learn about the beginning basics of how to play Lacrosse. Camp includes drills, tactics, rules and regulations, and all required equipment. Pre-registration is required. Camp date: August 2 – 6, 8 a.m. to noon, Ages: 9 – 14 years.

Babysitter Boot Camp: sharpen your skills by attending boot camp. Learn how to save a life, care for cuts and bruises, respond in a disaster and prepare nutritional food for kids. Earn 6 certifications. Pre-registration is required. Camp date: June 21 – 25, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Ages: 11 – 15 years.

PADI SCUBA Diver Certification: introduce participants to the underwater world through SCUBA diving. Program designed to cover the academic and confined water (pool) portions of the “Open Water” certifications. Pre-registration is required. Please call Mackle Park for schedule, times and pricing.

Open Water SCUBA Certification: this certification course is designed to train the diver to safely and confidently navigate the other two-thirds of our planet. Pre-registration is required. Please call Mackle Park for schedule, times and pricing.

Volleyball Camp: will help beginners to advanced participants with the fundamental skills of volleyball. Drills include passing, digging, setting and serving. Pre-registration is required. Camp date: July 12 – 16 and July 19 – 23, 9 a.m. to noon. Ages: 9 – 14 years.

Police/Fire Academy: are you interested in police work, fire fighting, crime scene investigation? Marco Island Police and Fire departments will be hosting a one week course on the ins and outs of law enforcement, fire service, emergency medical response and much more. Pre-registration is required. Camp date: June 14 – 18, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., rising 6th – 8th grades.

Marco City Tumbling and Cheer Camp: join instructor Lyndsi Koszo as she shows you the basics in cheerleading skills, tumbling and fun cheer games. Pre-registration is required. Camp date: June 28 – July 1, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ages: 7 – 13 years.

Beginner Golf Camp: sponsored by Coral Isle Golf Center. The clinic will include instruction on grip, stance, putting, posture, driving and golf etiquette. Camp concludes with golf course experience on Friday. Pre-registration is required. Camp date: July 20 – 23, 9 to 11 a.m. Ages: 9 – 13 years.

Green Thumb/Gardening Camp: help create a “Children’s Garden” at Mackle Park. We will learn about the study of larvae, caterpillars and butterflies, and understand the importance of bees, and to identify bad pests. The program will center around planting of seeds, using fertilizers, creating stepping stones and enriching soil. Pre-registration is required. Camp date: July 26 – 30, 9 to noon. Ages: 7 – 11 years.

Beach Soccer Fun Camp: Marco Island and Collier County Parks and Recreation partnered to bring you Beach Soccer Fun Camp this summer. This is a full week of soccer instruction plus beach fun at Tigertail Beach. Instructor Tony Smith brings a wealth of soccer knowledge to these full week camps. Pre-registration is required. Jewelry Making Camp: get into the basics of learning how to make your own jewelry. Participants will create necklaces and earrings from an assortment of gems, and jewels. All materials are included. Pre-registration is required. Camp date: June 28 – July 1, 9  to 11 a.m. Ages: 4th – 7th grades.

10 Rules of Social Etiquette Camp: etiquette tells us which fork to use and which plate to pick up. Learn how to make social interactions run more smoothly and the various etiquette difference between cultures. There will be role playing and the last day of class will be our social brunch. Camp date: July 6 – 9, 10 a.m. to noon. Ages: 7 – 11 years.

H2O Camp: Extreme Water Sports: Dustin Beatty of Water Ski and Wakeboard and Chris Bowden have teamed up to provide a comprehensive extreme water sports camp to include wakeboarding, water skiing, tubing and skim boarding instructions. TEEN PROGRAMS, Ages 13 – 18yrs

Teen Advisory Council: let your voices be heard on Friday, April 30 at 5 p.m. in the Teen Center. Teen Advisory Council will discuss teen upcoming programs, field trips, community service ideas, creating a teen t-shirt and naming of teen advisory council positions. For further inquires call 389-5034. Grades 6th – 12th invited.

Teen Center Makeover: the community is invited to join in helping to give the Teen Center a makeover just in time for summer. With a fresh coat of paint, shelving and other improvements, this place will be ready to provide teens with an attractive atmosphere in which to spend their time. So grab your friends, your parents, a paint brush and take ownership of a place designed just for teens! Monday, May 3rd to Friday, May 7th. Noon to 6 p.m. at the Teen Center.

Teen Center Parents’ Nights: this is an opportunity for parents and guardians to get the answer to the ever-pressing question, “What goes on in the Teen Center?” Parents and guardians are invited to the Teen Center to meet the Teen Recreation Leader, to see where the kids hang out, to find out what the teens have available to do, and to get the Teen Center summer schedule. Tuesday, May 25th; Wednesday, May 26th; Thursday, May 27th, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Teen Center.

Camp Mackle L.I.T. (Leader In Training): Camp Mackle is currently accepting applications for Leader in Training (LIT) volunteers to help with this year’s Camp Mackle program for elementary-aged children. This is a perfect opportunity for teens in need of volunteer hours, who enjoy community service, or who would like something fun and productive to do over the summer months. Applications can be picked up at Mackle Park. *Flexible schedules will be created for teen volunteers based on their availability and around prior engagements. Ages: 13-17 years. Camp Mackle Dates: June 11 – August 20, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

School’s Out for Summer Beach Bash: Music, Food, and Fun. Located at South Beach, have fun with your fellow classmates and celebrate the end of another great school year with parks and recreation. No Charge. Ages: 6th – 12th Graders. Thursday, June 10th, 3:30 to 8 p.m.

Teen Summer Trips: All teen summer field trips require each student to bring additional money for snacks and drinks. Transportation will be provided. IMPORTANT: A parent/guardian waiver must be signed.

Bamboozles Roller Skating Rink: May 30; Pre-Register by May 28; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Ft. Myers – Drop-off/Pick-up: Mackle Park. Cost: $10.

Eclipse Movie Premiere: Date: TBA; Pre-register by Monday, June 28th; Time: TBA at the Marco Movies. Cost: TBA.

Ft. Myers Miracle’s Baseball Game: July 23; Pre-Register by June 25; 5:45 to 10:30 p.m. at Ft. Myers – Drop-off/Pick-up: Mackle Park. Cost: $10.

Busch Gardens: August 20; Pre-register by July 23; Time: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Tampa – Drop-off/Pick-up: Mackle Park. Cost: $50. Minimum: 40; Maximum: 50.


Canasta: come meld with us on Tuesday afternoons from 1 to 4 p.m. at Mackle Park. This is a free social program where you can enjoy the game of Canasta and make new Island friends.

Island Knitters: all knitters are welcome, expert to novice every Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Mackle Park. Join us and share your stitches and your stories. Free of charge, walk-ins welcomed!

Mah Jongg: held every Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Mackle Park. Come join the fun and make new friends. Walk-ins welcomed, free of charge.

Duplicate Bridge: meet every Friday afternoon from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at Mackle Park. Duplicate Bridge is another way to meet new friends on Marco! Reservations are required. Please call Peachy at 642-6957 for available spaces.


Be Fit Over 50: continues on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 7:45 p.m. The fee is $40/month or $5/guest fee. Participants will enjoy the benefits of increased strength, muscle tone and flexibility. These weight bearing exercise programs will help combat osteoporosis and improve bone density.

Jazz It Up Cardio: is back by popular demand. Jazz It Up Cardio will be offered Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings from 7:45 to 9 a.m. Cost is $5 for walk in or $40 for a 9 session punch card. Instructor Bobbie LeCroy-Lansdown will help you incorporate cardiovascular moves, abdominal work, and free weights for a work out that is heart pumping and sure to please.


Mad Hatter Mother/Daughter Tea Party: will be on Saturday, May 8 from 10 a.m. to noon at Mackle Park. The Mad Hatter Tea invites all moms, daughters, aunts, grandmas and nieces. Please dress in your Sunday best. Cost is $15/person. Activities include: painting white roses red, tea and pastries, croquet, special guest appearances by Alice in Wonderland characters, and much more. Pre-registration is required. Movies in the Park Spring Series: schedule of upcoming movies at Mackle Park. Bring your coolers, blankets and lawn chairs out to Mackle Park’s field and enjoy a free movie under the stars. Popcorn, sodas and neon necklaces will be available for purchase. All movies start 10 – 15 mins. after sunset.

Pickleball: Wednesday, Friday 9 to 11:30 a.m. Open Challenge Court, Rotating open play. Cost for open challenge court is free for pass holders/$6 non-pass holders.

Men’s Tennis Flights: Monday, Wednesday 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Drop-in Men’s doubles. Cost for flight is free for pass holders/ $6 non-pass holders.

Women’s Tennis Flights: Tuesday, Thursday 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Drop-in women’s doubles.


Islander Tennis Fundamental Clinics: are held Monday & Tuesday, 10 to 11 a.m. The clinics will cover the basic strokes along with scoring, rules and proper etiquette of the sport of a lifetime. Participants in clinics will receive free court access from noon until 5 p.m. and 1 hour of ball machine time during the session week. The cost is $15/residents; $18/non-residents.

Drill and Tactics: Shot of the Week Clinics: are held Wednesday & Thursday, 10 to 11 a.m. A specific shot each week will be highlighted to help you fine-tune the stroke and utilize the shot to your advantage.  

Drill and Tactics: Doubles Strategy Clinic: is held Friday, 10 to 11 a.m., 3.5 Level. Clinic focus will be on strategy and positioning for all situations encountered in doubles play. $15/residents; $18/non-residents. Weekly sign-up is required.

Cardio Tennis: is held Mondays and Thursdays 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Cardio Tennis combines a great cardio workout along with practicing those winning shots on the court. Cost is $10 /residents; $12/non-residents. Weekly sign-up is required.

“City Kids” Junior Tennis Program: The children’s instructional program features four different levels and runs in six week sessions throughout the winter and spring. Call the Racquet Center at 239-394-5454 for more information.

Pickleball Clinic: free instructional clinic on Mondays from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Racquet Center.

Friends of Snoopy Tennis Benefit: Saturday May 22 at 9 a.m., a mixed doubles mixer will be held to benefit the Canine Cove at Mackle Park. Entry fee is $20 per person and refreshments will be provided. Sign-up at the Racquet Center or call 239-394-5454.
