Open Gym Tiny Tumblers will be held every Saturday morning from 9:30am – 10:30am at Mackle Park. Cost is $8/child, walk-ins are welcome.


Freestyle Martial Arts for Kids Offered by Defense Fitness Club, children will learn martial arts fitness and defensive techniques which will emphasize confidence building and skill development. This program is based on the 5 principles of martial arts: Body Relationships, Balance, Extension, Blending & Controlling the Mind; all by utilizing the best techniques of martial arts. Freestyle Martial Arts for Kids will begin in January running on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Mackle Park. Beginners will train from 4:00 p.m. – 4:45 p.m. and intermediates will train from 4:45 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.  Cost is $65 per month with a one-time, initial registration fee of $25 for new students. Pre-registration is required.

Marco Magic Competitive Cheerleaders Do you enjoy cheering at a competitive level? Our Marco Magic cheerleaders form a travel-based squad that competes in local and state competitions and has a ton of fun!  Please call Mackle Park for pricing and schedule information.

Jr. Power Tumblers Join our Jr. Power Tumblers to learn how to perform cartwheels, round-offs, back bends, and much more. Open Gym for kids 6 – 13 years old is held on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00pm at Mackle Park. Walk-ins welcome!  Cost is $8/child.

Krafty Kids Let’s get crafty each day during Spring Break! We’ll paint, glue, color, and get our hands messy. This program is for children 6-10 years old, March 21-25 from 10 a.m.-Noon.  Pre-registration is required.

Garden Camp Join us for a fun-filled week of gardening. We will be planting bulbs and learning about the bulbs and plants specifically planted during the spring months in Southwest Florida. Summer herbs and flowers will also be part of the curriculum. Join us for a special garden planting at Mackle Park. Garden Camp will be offered the week of March 21 – 25 from 1:00 – 4:00pm for children age 6 and older. Pre–registration is required.

TEEN PROGRAMS, Ages 13 – 18yrs

Teen Social Night Pizza, music, friends…what more could you ask for?  Friday, April 8th from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00pm at Mackle Park. Cost is $5.00/person.

Community Service Opportunities

Kids Helping Kids The Child Life Specialists at The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida in Ft. Myers have invited us to join them in hosting one of their recreation activities for their patients. Please look for details for this volunteer opportunity in the near future.

Marco Island Seafood Festival Spend the day in the Kids’ Zone at the Marco Island Seafood Festival painting faces and engaging kids in other arts and craft activities. Seafood Festival days are March 26 and 27th from 12:00pm – 5:00pm. Pre-registration is required at Mackle Park.

Marco Island Parks and Recreation’s Spring Jubilee Help the Parks and Recreation Department with one of their biggest events of the year! Volunteers are needed to help set-up and breakdown the event, to throw eggs for the Easter Egg Hunt, and to run activity booths. You must register by April 22.


ACBL Sanctioned Bridge Come out for our weekly, Monday afternoon bridge group. Call Mary Darlington at 642-7532 for details and reservations.

Canasta Come meld with us on Tuesday afternoons from 12:30 – 3:30pm at Mackle Park. This is a free, social program where you can enjoy the game of Canasta and make new Island friends.

Island Knitters All knitters are welcome, expert to novice, every Wednesday from 12:30 – 3:30pm at Mackle Park. Join us to share your stitches and your stories. Free of charge, walk-ins welcome!

Mah Jongg Mah Jongg is held every Thursday from 12:30 – 3:30pm at Mackle Park. Come join the fun and make new friends. Walk-ins welcomed, free of charge.

Duplicate Bridge If you play Bridge join us every Friday at Mackle Park from 12:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m.  Duplicate Bridge is another way to meet new friends on Marco! Reservations are required. Call Peachy at 642-6957 for available spaces.

Line Dancing Boot scoot around at Mackle Park. Iris Mooney will teach you the beginning steps of line dancing which you will be able to take with you wherever you go. Classes meet Tuesdays and Wednesdays for all dance levels from 9:30 a.m.-10:45 a.m.  Cost is $6/participant, walk-ins welcome!

Tap Dancing Tap, Tap, Tap your way with Susan Gaston as she shows you the beginning fundamentals of tap dancing. Susan has taught adult exercise and dance classes for over 40 years. Each class will be a new dance to learn. You will need to provide tap shoes and wear comfortable clothing. Walk-ins welcomed! Classes will be offered every Friday beginning February 18 from 9:30 -10:30am at Mackle Park. Cost is $8 per person.

From Farmers’ Market to Your Table Become a locavore and consume our bountiful local produce, fresh from the Farmers’ Market! Chef Lynn will select fresh produce from the Market and prepare a starter, an entrée or casserole, a vegetable side dish, and dessert for you to sample. You will learn how to select ripe produce and how best to prepare it to accentuate its freshness and health benefits. Each month a different meal will be prepared based on what is available at the Market that day.  This program will be held Wednesday, January 19, February 23, March 16, and April 13.  Pre-registration is required.

Dinner on the Lanai Get out of the kitchen and onto the lanai where you can enjoy the island weather and your guests! Entertaining couldn’t be easier with these easy-to-prepare meals. This combination demonstration and participation class includes recipes that can be prepared ahead of time and/or served at room temperature.  Join us for this class on February 9 or March 23.  Pre-registration is required.

Co-ed Adult Softball Grab your Sweetheart and join us for some fun, recreational softball. Teams must have at least 10 players, with a minimum of 5 ladies. Games will be played Thursday nights. Form your own team or sign up at Mackle Park and we will try our best to find a team for you. Min: 4 teams Max: 6 teams


Be Fit Over 50 continues on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings at 7:45 a.m. The fee is $40/month or $5/guest fee.  Participants will enjoy the benefits of increased strength, muscle tone and flexibility. This weight-bearing exercise program will help combat osteoporosis and improve bone density.

Jazz It Up Cardio is back by popular demand. Jazz It Up Cardio will be offered Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings from 7:45am – 9:00am. Cost is $5 for walk-in or $40 for a 9 session punch card. Instructor Bobbie LeCroy-Lansdown will help you incorporate cardiovascular moves, abdominal work, and free weights for a workout that is heart-pumping and sure to please.

Adventure Boot Camp Women of all fitness levels, shapes, sizes and ages are gaining great results with Adventure Boot Camp! You can too! Are you looking for a jump-start to your fitness program? This Adventure is for you! Whether you are a beginner, an avid fitness enthusiast or just tired of the same routine, come try this whole new approach to exercise. Marco Island Adventure Boot Camp is a four-week outdoor fitness program that offers fitness instruction, nutritional counseling and motivational training designed to help you reach your fitness goals. Zen Yoga Zen Yoga offers an opportunity to explore the mind/body connection through a combination of the gentle movement of Tai Chi, various yoga body postures and the energized breathing of Qi Gong. It also includes deep relaxation and meditation components. Open to all fitness levels.  Classes are held Thursdays at 9 a.m. at the Racquet Center.

Marco Island Farmers’ Market Located at Veterans’ Community Park every Wednesday during the months of November through April from 7:30am – 2:30pm.  Local southwest Florida vendors will be out selling some of their favorite home good items and crafts. Goods that will be at the market include fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, salsa, sauces, fresh flowers, seafood, soaps, crafts and much more. Come out and visit some of our local farmers as they showcase some of their favorite delicacies.

MLB Pitch, Hit, and Run Competition Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run (PHR) is an exciting skills competition that provides boys and girls the chance to advance through four levels of competition. Pitch Hit and Run will be held on Saturday, April 30th from 1:00 – 3:00pm at Winterberry Field.  Athletes 7-14 years of age are encouraged to compete.  This is a free, open event for all to attend.
