Since 2014, every spring the Marco Island Foundation for the Arts (MIFA) has recognized an Artist of the Year. The non-profit organization is requesting nominations for the Artist of the Year from the public. This special honor recognizes the art or activity of a person or group who has made an outstanding contribution to the cultural life of our community. The Artist of the Year can be an individual, group or organization that is from Marco Island, the Isle of Capri or Goodland.
MIFA’s mission is to promote the visual, literary and performing arts in public places. The Artist of the Year award recognizes someone or a group with long standing service to the community, and contributes artistic excellence in the visual arts, the performing arts, or the literary arts.
Nominations must be in writing and submitted to MIFA, P.O. Box 1091, Marco Island, FL 34145 no later than March 31, 2017. Submissions must include the name and contact information of the person submitting the nomination. Be sure to include adequate support information about the person or group being nominated including achievements, previous awards, and contact information. Slides, photographs, CDs, DVDs, recent reviews, etc. are helpful, but are optional.

The 2017 Artist of the Year will be announced in May, and will be honored during MIFA’s annual Scholarship /Artist of the Year luncheon. We look forward to receiving your nominations.
