The Calusa Garden Club is proud to present Monica Brandies Monday January 10th 2011 at the Marco Island Library, Rose Auditorium at 2;00 pm. The public is invited to this special event. The regular membership meeting will begin one hour earlier at 1:00 pm.

Monica Brandies is one of Florida’s foremost gardeners and author of 10 gardening books. She is a graduate of Pennsylvania School of Horticulture which is part of Temple University. She has had a weekly Garden column for more than 25 years and has written 10 garden books. She will be speaking on Herbs and Spices. Her main rule is to enjoy your garden.

What really are the differences between Herbs and Spices? How to use herbs and spices as decoration along walkways, in potted plants on the lanais and as borders. There are inside herb gardens with pots on window sills and even plants under domes in sunny rooms of our homes or condos. Two of her most popular books are “HERBS and SPICES FOR FLORIDA GARDENS”, and “PANYT HOSE, HOT PEPPERS, TEA BAGS, and MORE FOR the GARDEN”.

This event is open to the public. She will have plants and books for sale. Additional parking will be available next door at the Museum. A $5.00 donation is requested at the door.
