McDonald’s honors Marco Island restaurant manager with prestigious national award

Marco Island is home to one of the nation’s top McDonald’s® restaurant managers. Nathalie Herrera-Carmona recently received the Ray Kroc Award, an annual performance-based award that recognizes the top performing McDonald’s restaurant managers in the country. Named after McDonald’s Corporation founder Ray Kroc, the award was established 12 years ago in 1999 to honor hardworking restaurant managers – those who make Ray Kroc’s vision of excellence come to life in restaurants and for customers each day.

A select 141 managers were chosen this year to receive the Ray Kroc Award, an honor that comes with a cash prize, a Ray Kroc award trophy, ring and pin and a trip to Chicago for an awards gala on April 5 hosted by Jan Fields, McDonald’s USA President. The banquet will take place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Chicago.

“I appreciate the nomination by my organization and am so honored to have been selected as a Ray Kroc Award recipient,” said Herrera-Carmona. “Everything is possible at McDonald’s; if you work hard, you will get great rewards.”

Ray Kroc built the McDonald’s business on the belief that greatness can only be achieved through the dedication and support of a company’s people. The award was named after him based on his commitment to people and recognizing their contributions to the organization he helped establish. Each year, this prestigious award is given to the top 1 percent of McDonald’s U.S. restaurant managers to recognize their superior performance and achievement.

“Nathalie’s being honored with the coveted Ray Kroc Award is a true testament to her unwavering commitment to excellence, building our business and taking care of our customers’ needs each and every day,”

said Mike Adams, who owns and operates several local McDonald’s in Collier and Lee counties, including Herrera-Carmona’s restaurant. “We are truly proud to have Nathalie as part of our McDonald’s family and commend her on this impressive accolade.”

Herrera-Carmona, who started working with the Adams & O’Reilly McDonald’s organization in 2002 as a cook, is a manager at the Marco Island McDonald’s restaurant. A native of Colombia and a current resident of Naples, the opportunity to grow in her career originally attracted her to McDonald’s, and she likes the company’s diversity.

McDonald’s Owner/Operators and/or regional staff nominate restaurant managers for the Ray Kroc Award to recognize their hard work, dedication and commitment to McDonald’s. From there, a selection committee of representatives from McDonald’s Operations, Training and Human Resources select the top 1 percent of McDonald’s Restaurant Managers for the Ray Kroc Award.
