By Coastal Breeze News Staff

A wonderful time was had by all at the Marco Men’s Club annual Hurricane Ball, that was held last Thursday at the Hideaway Beach Club. The festivities began at 5:30 with a Happy Hour for greeting each other and socializing. At 6:30 Ray Rosenberg and Jack DeHanas took to the microphone and began this year’s door prize drawings. It was fun to watch the winners as they discovered their number had been drawn and made their way to the dance floor to receive their hurricane preparedness themed prize. Prizes this year included storm radios, flashlights and first aid kits. The final drawing was for a Marco Men’s Club license plate.

As the staff prepared to serve dinner the big announcement of the night was made. The 2011-2012 Hurricane Queen. This year’s winner was Mary Moyer, wife of club member John Moyer. Many rushed to the floor to congratulate her including three past Queens that were in attendance. Hideaway served an excellent dinner of your choice of Filet Mignon, Chicken Cordon Bleu or Snapper.

As the dinner was served the entertainment took to the floor – The Consecutones. With their gold jackets, great voices and excellent dance moves the crowd was entertained. As guests finished their meals the dance floor became more and more crowded over the next couple hours. Kudo’s to Jack DeHanas and Ray Rosenberg who planned this fabulous social night out.

Future events for the club include a Miami Dolphin’s football game, shows at the Philharmonic and Sugden theater, a Caribbean cruise, Halloween and Valentine’s parties, golf outings, luncheons, a Luau and pig roast and the 20th Anniversary Dinner and dance.
