Crazy Flamingo’s     13                                                Rookies       8

Flamingo’s scored five runs in the first and four runs in the third leading too the season opening win. George Lancaster, Ray Niemeyer, Steve Slaggie, and Frank Dooley contributed two hits each. Lancaster and Niemeyer ripped a triple, with Niemeyer having three RBI, Lancaster and Tom Patterson two RBI in the win. John Hollenbach had two hits with John Gill driving in two runs for Rookies.

By scoring five runs in the third and six runs in the fourth Mango’s was able to hold off a late rally by CJ’s for the teams first win. Jim Bauman and Jim Batteye banged out three hits with Dan Stanard having two for Mango’s. Batteye chalked up four RBI and Fran Diotte two. Fran Roche laced four hits; while Pat Coraggio, Gary Badger, Butch Munson, and Bob Grimm had two for CJ’s. Munson cracked a triple and had two RBI.

Speakeasy poured it on Stonewalls with a twenty hit attack in their first league contest earning the win. Mike Arnold hammered four hits; Ron Townsend and Fuzz Fazekas three, while Chet Dal Bianco, Ron Irwin, Al Cenicola, and Don Rooksberry had two for Speakeasy. Arnold drove in three runs; Rooksberry, Fazekas, Leon Schmidt and Tony Brock two. Dan Cody stroked three hits, with Tom Purtell, Bob Smith, and Mike Gallagher having two for Stonewalls. Dave Coward recorded four RBI.

CJ’s pitcher Butch Munson, Paul Womack, and Fran Roche had three RBI with Mike Galatis, Gary Badger and Bob Grimm having two RBI in CJ’s win. Munson tagged three hits, Roche two and Womack smacked a homerun. Stonewalls Mike Walsh lined three hits, while Tom Purtell and John Wood had two. Roger Wise drove in two runs in the loss.

Speakeasy capitalized on errors along with timely hitting for the win. Bob Smith, Leon Schmitt. Don Rooksberry had three hits along with two hits each by Bob Levasseur, Chet Dal Bianco, Al Cenicola and Ron Townsend. Schmitt recorded two RBI. Rookies George Kirk stung the ball for three hits; Joe Callahan and Angelo Polizzi had two. John Hollerbach was credited with three RBI for Rookies.

Winning pitcher Bill Kaschube, Denny Davis and Fred Kramer smoked the ball for three hits, with Dick Corley, Bob Monaco, Tony Brock, Darryl Judson, and Leroy Fishleigh having two. Kaschube and Rich Condle had three RBI; Brock and Fishleigh and Kramer who cracked a triple had two RBI. Dan Stanard lead Mango’s with three hits, Jim Baumann walloped a solo home run and drove in two runs in the game.

Speakeasy’s record remained unblemished, with a come form behind win. Bob Levasseur, Ron Irwin, Don Rooksberry, and Ron Townsend all had two hits with one of Levasseur’s hits being a triple for Speakeasy. Townsend chased in three runs Levasseur two. Dick Corley, Paul Burnett, Bob Monaco, Denny Davis, Tom Loiacono, Bill Kaschube, Tony Brock, and Rick Condle all had two hits for Joey’s. Loiacono, Kaschube, and Condle all smacked a triple. Davis tallied up three RBI and Monaco two.

Jerry Lenhoff and Joe Callahan lined two hits each with one of Lenhoff’s being a homerun leading to Rookies first win of the season. Lenhoff drove in three runs, Callahan and Rich Chimera two. Tom Purtell and Mike Walsh thumped the ball for three hits apiece for Stonewalls. Dan O’Sullivan of Rookies and Gary Zentner of Stonewalls pelted a triple in the game.

Mango’s clipped Flamingo’s wings behind a twenty-one hit attack. Jim White slashed out four hits, Dan Stanard and Warren Uhl had three, Jim Yount and Jim Batteye two. Uhl who launched a towering home run in the game had five RBI as did Yount, Batteye had three, and Jan Grossman two. Ray Niemeyer zinged three hits for Flamingo’s with Ray Zielinski, George Lancaster, Jerry Kratz, Tom Grucci, Tom Patterson and Frank Dooley having two. Lancaster walloped a home run and had two RBI as did Grucci and Dom Fiorda.




Monday January 12th , 2015

DaVinci’s bats were smoking in the teams opening game of the season, banging out twenty-three hits. Bill Wright tagged four hits, Paul Shelton, Bill Shurina, and Ron Hobson had three. Murph Knapke blasted a grand slam home run an ended the game with six RBI; Shurina had four, Shelton and Hobson two. Winning pitcher Jerry Cnudde was supported by some outstanding by defense by Tom McCullough and Bill Thompson. Steve Clark had three hits for the Bank with Art Sinisi chasing in two runs; Ed Kingsbury smashed a triple in the loss.

Sand Bar scored four runs in the bottom of the eight for a come from behind win. The big blow was a triple by Tom Bishard who had four hits and three RBI for Sand Bar. Teammates Dave Banghart and Ralph Sieja nailed three hits. Sieja and Ray Kane drove in two runs. John Gross and John Barrett stroked the ball for three hits for Nacho’s with Gross collecting two RBI.

A five run eight inning rally by Porky’s earned them the win. Bob Grant peppered four hits with Tom Pugh, Mike Hopkins and Jim Ramage having three for Porky’s. John Haskins hoisted a solo home run with Tom Tankersley crushing a triple. Hopkins and Ramage collected three RBI; Rich Krumholz, Tankersley and Grant had two. Jack O’Brien spanked the ball for four hits, while Steve Hummel, Gary Ravell, John Remhoff, and Art Sinisi had three for the Brewery. O’Brien, Sinisi and Tom Whitlock cracked a triple. Ravell and Whitlock chase in three runs, O’Brien and Sinisi two.
