A perfect May evening welcomed attendees of the Marco Island Academy to Prom Night at the Marco Island Yacht Club on Saturday, May 15.
Students, dressed to perfection, arrived mostly one-by-one to the event, keeping the valet parking attendants hopping.
Kendall Jacobs was voted prom queen and Johnny Watt was selected prom king.
MIA principal Melissa Scott felt like the luckiest lady at the prom.
“I just feel really lucky,” she said. “I am so lucky to have such amazing students and to be able to provide them with an opportunity for a touch of normalcy in what has been a very hard year.”
Scott continues with her thanks. “I am so lucky to have such a wonderful staff who supports and celebrates the students every chance they can. And I am so lucky to live in community that embraces and supports our students and school and continuously wants the best for them and welcomes us into their spaces.”
“And lastly, I am so lucky to have a Board that provides nothing but love, support, and positivity for all of us.”
