In Loving Memory of Larry L. Taylor

Larry L. Taylor made his peaceful way to heaven early on Sunday, March 7, 2021. He was surrounded at home by his loving wife of 47 years, Robin, and his two daughters Sarah and Laura.

Larry was born on July 23, 1954, to Marlene and Robert Taylor in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and moved shortly afterward to Vancouver, Washington, where he grew up and resided there until 1983. Larry went to Evergreen High School where he played various sports and was also on the track team where he held the high jump record for many years. While in Washington, Larry learned the construction trade from his father and built many commercial buildings, homes and apartments alongside his parents, brother Steve (wife Cindy) sister Linda (husband Buddy), and his wife Robin.

Larry was very close with his mother Marlene, Steve and Cindy, Linda and Buddy (who was like a brother). Larry was the glue that kept everyone together, the travel guide of the family and always making memories on family trips. He was very sentimental and a big softie to those who knew him well.

Larry and Robin met through mutual friends in high school, were engaged three months later, and married three months after that on August 28, 1973. Their love for each other was felt by anyone who knew them. Always holding hands and always together. They had their first daughter Sarah in 1977, and their second daughter Laura in 1979. They enjoyed going on motorcycle rides, going on motorhome trips, boating and going to Disney. Larry also had his pilot’s license and had a love of flying. They went on many adventures together around the US and truly lived life to the fullest.

Larry and Robin moved to Florida in 1983 and to Marco Island in 1987. He started Larry Taylor Construction and built numerous custom homes on the island until just recently. You can drive around Marco Island and see a Larry Taylor Construction home on almost every block. Larry and Robin would start working with clients on their homes and by the end of the building process they became close, personal friends. Larry’s clients valued his honesty, attention to detail, timeliness and his efforts to always produce a top-quality home. Larry also obtained his Real Estate broker’s license a few years ago and worked alongside Robin in real estate. The contributions he made to Marco Island will forever be a legacy.

Larry is survived by his loving family including his wife Robin, daughters Sarah (grandchildren Katie, Taylor and Ryan) and Laura (grandchildren Carson and Lucy), his mother Marlene (Curt), sister Linda (Buddy and their children Stacie ‘Casey’) and Darci (Roberto and Little Logan), brother Steve (Cindy) and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
