Home For The Holidays

Over the weekend, Collier County Domestic Animal Services (DAS) hosted a 33-hour Home for the Holidays Adopt-A-Thon event and found homes for 74 homeless animals. That’s 41 cats, 32 dogs and one hamster. During the event, DAS waived all adoption fees.

In an effort to find homes for the remainder of the pets at the shelter, DAS is asking adopters to name their own adoption price through Saturday, Dec. 31.

Adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, age appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, heartworm test for dogs, FELV/FIV test for cats, rabies vaccination and 30 days of free pet insurance. That’s a value of more than $400!

For more information on DAS or to see the animals available for adoption, visit, stop by the Naples shelter, located at 7610 Davis Blvd., Naples, Florida, 34104, between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday; or visit the Immokalee shelter at 405 Sgt.
