Following an electrical fire on June 9, 2017, the Hilton Marco Island Beach Resort and Spa closed its doors for renovations and repairs. The hotel has remained closed. Recently, the Hilton issued the following update:
In June, our resort experienced an electrical fire with subsequent extensive flooding due to sprinkler activation. As a result of our experts’ comprehensive and ongoing investigation, it has become clear that the extent of water damage was far greater than we had originally understood. Based on this new information and in order to maintain the level of service that our valued guests have come to expect from our property and team, we will undertake significant repairs and additional upgrades to guest rooms and common areas in the hotel.
We now anticipate that the resort should be fully operational by December 1, 2017. Guests with confirmed reservations through November 30, 2017 will be automatically cancelled. All guests experiencing cancellation during this time will be granted a special booking rate next year in appreciation for their understanding and loyalty to the Hilton Marco Island Beach Resort and Spa.
