We’ve all been there. We wake up and don’t feel quite right. Perhaps it’s a sore throat or flu-like symptoms. Or an uncomfortable and unexpected ache/pain. Of course, there are always those unforeseen pulled muscles and accidental cuts.
Then we think: “It would probably be a good idea to go see a doctor.” Naturally, that thought is often followed by: “Oh, I don’t want to overreact” or perhaps, “I doubt I can get an appointment for today anyway.”
As a society, we place a premium on two things: good health and convenience.
If you look at the history of healthcare in this country, it’s easy to understand why many don’t automatically associate the term “good health” with “convenience.” That has not always been the case. But my question continues to be: why can’t we just change that?
I believe that each of us should be able to expect convenient access to medical professionals—and I’m proud to say that Physicians Regional continues to lead the charge in East Naples.
Though I’m happy the public has been conditioned to call 9-1-1 in the case of a true medical emergency, not every unexpected ailment requires emergency room care—and waiting several days for a traditional doctor’s appointment may not cut it.
Those living in, commuting through, or commuting to Marco and East Naples now have another alternative:
Physicians Regional –East Naples
4525 Thomasson Drive
This brand new, state-of-the-art facility is located just off Tamiami Trail East. It’s extremely convenient for those living in East Naples, including The Isles, Lakewood, Lely, Treviso Bay, Eagle Creek as well as those who travel the East Trail on their morning or afternoon commute.
Physicians Regional – Marco Island
1839 San Marco Road
Opened in 2013 and located on the corner of San Marco Road and Barfield Drive, Physicians Regional – Marco Island has been serving patients for several years now.
The facility is convenient for residents of Marco Island, Goodland, Isles of Capri, Hammock Bay and Fiddler’s Creek. Not surprising, Physicians Regional – Marco Island also treats a large number of people who commute to Marco Island for work.
The clinic offers laboratory and x-ray services as well as appointments with doctors representing family medicine, cardiology and urology.
The primary advantage to either of our Walk-In Clinics is built right into the name: “Walk-In.” Both the Marco Island and East Naples clinics are staffed with experienced advanced registered nurse practitioners who offer quality health care without a long wait. Another advantage is financial in nature – visits to our Walk-in Clinics are billed as physician office visits, not hospital-based Urgent Care visits, which typically mean a higher out-of-pocket cost to patients.
To better understand “non-urgent care,” both facilities often see patients with upper respiratory infections, colds, flu, sprains, and lacerations, to name a few.
The Walk-in clinics are part of Physicians Regional Medical Group. Together with both our Pine Ridge and Collier Boulevard hospitals, we provide a tremendous benefit to the patient community. Our clinic staff members can quickly coordinate care with a wide range of specialists. For example, if you come in with something in your eye, we can immediately set you up to see a specialist who can address this specific need.
Plus, because all patient records are stored electronically, our clinics have immediate access to all our patient records throughout our system.
Both clinics are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to serve the patient community seeking immediate (non-emergency) care. As you would expect, our hours of operation will increase during “season” to allow for our annual increase in population.
And though our children may not want to think about it yet, the new school year will be here before we know it. In many cases, that signals a need for school physicals. This includes the required school-entry and annual sports physicals.
Both of our clinics can provide the required sports physicals and school physicals for a cash payment of only $20.
Yes, we may have new homes and businesses popping up all over this region; however, as Physicians Regional is the most high-profile healthcare provider in East Naples, we have long since understood our role in caring for everyone—those who already live here and as well as our new neighbors.
Thank you for the opportunity.
