Harris Private Bankers Exchange Portfolios for Paintbrushes

Harris Private Bank’s Naples team recently left the office and brought hope to families in need of a new home when they participated in Habitat for Humanity of Collier County’s newest community at Regal Acres as part of BMO Financial Group’s Annual North American Volunteer Day.

As part of a corporate-wide volunteer initiative, Naples’ Harris Private Bank volunteers filled holes, painted walls, ceilings and trim, opened cartons of appliances and cleaned a duplex in the new community. BMO Volunteer Day encompasses approximately 6,500 employees taking part in 400 projects across Canada and the U.S., including children and youth organizations, elder care, food banks, community housing and health care facilities, family resource centers, parks and recreational facilities, supporting military personnel overseas, relief organizations and homeless shelters. It is a legacy of BMO Harris Bank in the United States, which launched the event in 2001.

“Volunteering is important to us as it supports our commitment to helping others,” reported A. Scott Hansen, Managing Director Gulf Coast Offices and Senior Portfolio Manager for Harris Private Bank in Naples. “Helping improve the quality of life in the communities where we live and work is a core value at BMO Harris, and our Habitat for Humanity project

in Regal Acres is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to make meaningful investments in our neighborhoods,” noted Hansen.

Mr. Hansen added that volunteering has played an important role in the lives of BMO Harris employees. Last year, the BMO Harris Naples team volunteered at the St. Matthew’s House Food Pantry. “Yet, these volunteer hours are just as rewarding for our team as it is to those we are hoping to help in our community, explained Hansen. “Volunteering gives us a rewarding and humbling experience.”

BMO Volunteer Day encourages and supports this commitment by providing opportunities to participate in charitable work and projects during business hours. BMO’s support takes many forms with the goal being to enhance and strengthen the communities it serves through corporate giving, volunteer efforts, board memberships, and active participation in agencies such as the United Way.

“Our vision to be the bank that defines great customer experience goes beyond financial products and services,” said Mark Furlong, President and Chief Executive Officer, BMO Harris Bank N.A. “We are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of those who live and work in the communities we serve. As a bank, we recognize our unique role in society, and we take our civic responsibility seriously.”
