The Friends of Fakahatchee have announced their final four tram tours of the season. The group’s Ghost Rider tram will offer naturalist guided tours of Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park on March 24, and April 4. Riders on the 2 1/2 hour tour will learn about the park’s history and unique ecosystem that is home to a profusion of orchids, air plants, birds, and mammals including the Florida panther. Tours leave at 10 a.m. and return at 12:30 p.m. Advance reservations are required at $25 per person.
For those who want to immerse themselves in the Fakahatchee, the Friends offer the season’s final Tram Tour and Swamp Walk on March 26. This adventure leaves and 9:30 a.m. and returns at 1 p.m. and includes 90 minutes wading through the Fakahatchee Strand. Reservations are $60 per person.
