It’s final call for anyone wanting to enter the Eighth Annual City of Marco Island Wildlife Amateur Photo Contest. The contest closes to entries on April 24th. Winners will be announced May 1st. If you have any photos you have shot during the past year that you are considering entering, there is still time. Categories were combined this year into Land and Marine Animals, Insects and Plants and Trees and Landscapes. Black and white, color photos and photos creatively enhanced are all acceptable. Camera type is not limited, so whether you’re using a Canon, a disposable or cellphone, all are acceptable. Amateur photographers, 14 and up, are eligible to enter. Anamateur is described as anyone not receiving monetary compensation for their photography. Entries must be printed in an 8 X 10” format and set in a standard 11 X 14” mat. A digital version also be included. All entries will be on display at City Hall and then at the Marco Island Historical Museum for all to see. You can enter up to four photos and there is no fee to enter.
