Dear Editor,

I’m proud to be part of a community so generous in spirit.

With the support of some highly esteemed community members, my Breast Cancer Awareness Open House on Oct. 19th was so successful. The many women who attended thoroughly enjoyed presentations from Dr. Patty Poling, Melissa Felice, Dr. Lamm, Val Simon and Millie Kelley.  Each shared their expertise with highly valued information and often with great humor. We had a blast!

Also, thanks to Tammy and Denise from Salon Botanica for their generosity in giving their time and talent for pampering us with nail care and massage.

You are all amazing ladies!

Additionally, my fabulous neighbors, Derek from Subway & Scott from Cheers generously sent food for our party. Thank you, guys!

This was a night where the power of sharing showed that we are truly Stronger-Together!

To the Editor,

City Planner Kris Van Lengen says he is studying the request or petition to officially declare Marco Island Cemetery ‘historical’.

This is per my request as I believe declaring the cemetery ‘historical’ might help in my fight against recent Florida Statutes not allowing a mausoleum for above ground burial at the cemetery.

The cemetery has been here since 1880. City Council has agreed to look into the matter and this is the first movement to protect the Marco Island Historical Cemetery.
