Spring not only brings warmer days and afternoon showers, it also brings kittens. Animal shelters and rescue organizations fill quickly during this time with an influx of kittens that come as a result of the unsterilized cat population in Collier County.
In preparation for kitten season, Collier County Domestic Animal Services (DAS) will reduce the adoption fee to $10 for cats older than four months during the month of April. Cat adoptions are usually $60.
The adoption fee includes sterilization surgery, vaccinations, pet license, ID microchip and 30 days of pet health insurance, valued at more than $600.
