Crash Leaves a Marco Island Teen Dead and Two Others Injured

A crash involving a motorcycle has left one Marco Island teen dead and two injured.

On Thursday night, 19-year-old Cole Stocklein was traveling northbound on County Road 951 on his 2013 Suzuki motorcycle. As he approached the intersection of Marino Circle, a vehicle attempting to make a left turn entered his path, striking him. Stocklein was thrown from his vehicle, coming to a stop straddling a canal and embankment on the east shoulder of the road. He was fatally injured in the crash. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Stocklein had the right of way.

The other driver, 18-year-old Joel Ignacio, is currently being treated for serious injuries. His passenger, 19-year-old Natalia Rosado-Bermudez, received minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
