On April 21, 2012, Amy and Dr. Thomas Hale said their vows to each other, but didn’t stop there professing their commitment. Along with Amy’s daughter, Kayla Solem, the young family has decided there is no greater charge than to lead Collier County to a brighter future.
One of 40 other business leaders in the community, Amy has been accepted as a member of the Leadership Collier class of 2013. The Leadership Collier program was formed by The Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce in 1988 to develop a network of informed citizens prepared to assume leadership roles in our community. The primary objective of the Leadership Collier Program is to educate local business leaders about the societal and economic challenges facing the community today. Amy is Vice President for M&I Wealth Management Trust Services, a part of BMO Financial Group, in Naples, where employees are encouraged to provide community service and to fuel their philanthropic passions. She couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to understand and be educated in greater depth on how the community functions. Amy already serves on the Endowment Board of the YMCA of the Palms and was a past board member of the Women’s Network of Collier County. She is a current active member of The Rotary Club of Naples.
Personally, Amy’s acceptance has even more meaning to her as her daughter Kayla has just been selected for the Youth Leadership Collier program whose mission is to develop ethical leaders committed to active community involvement. Kayla just finished her junior year at First Baptist Academy and has been on the Yearbook team since her freshman year. She is also an involved member of Centerpoint Community Church. Loving her community, Kayla is an active volunteer at Physician’s Regional Hospital and with the first grade class on Wednesday evenings at First Baptist Church Naples. She has also volunteered through her school to teach the elderly how to use computers. Kayla is also on the tennis team at her school and loves her job at Chick-fil-A.
While Amy Hale and daughter Kayla Solem will be enrolled in Leadership programs to benefit the community at the same time this summer, Amy’s new husband, Dr. Thomas Hale, is no stranger to the program. A 2008 graduate of Leadership Collier, Tom owns a private practice dental office in Naples (www.smilesbyhale.com) and is a well-known and national lecturer in his field. Aside from his work as a general dentist, he does a lot of cosmetic dentistry and was awarded the Gold Medal Smile Makeover winner from the Florida Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in 2006 & 2007. He is an active member in the North Naples Rotary Club and supports many charitable organizations in our community. He is also a past board member of the YMCA of the Palms.
The family that leads together does good deeds together!
