Just in time for property tax season, the Collier County Tax Collector Marco Island Branch Office held an official reopening.
The facility was closed from August 28 through October 23 while undergoing renovations. During this period, temporary offices operated at the Rose Hall auditorium and the Marco Island Library.
Renovations include new cabinetry, desks for the clerks, a waiting area, and a numbered ticket system (similar to grocery stores) to avoid confusion of who is up next. Millwork, new flooring, lighting and ceiling grids were also installed. The new spacious office layout provides convenience and ample seating to those in line. The total cost for renovations came in under budget at $197,000. The facility was even able to return funds to the county.
The general contractor in charge of the renovations was Build, LLC.
During the closure, driver’s license and birth certificate services were unavailable at the temporary location. All services are now available, which include property tax payment, hunting and fishing licenses, driver’s licenses, motor vehicle registration and birth certificates.
At the reopening, Deputy Tax Collector Rob Stoneburner said, “We want to thank all the community members involved and Tanya Williams, Library Division Director for the county who allowed us to make use of the Rose Hall auditorium and the Marco Island Branch Library during the renovation period,”
