Most people catch a view of tranquil Smokehouse Bay from one of the restaurants or shops at The Esplanade on Collier Boulevard or as they stroll along the promenade adjacent to the marina. A few lucky people keep their boats at the marina at The Esplanade, but some of the luckiest people on the island are the owners and renters of condos along this beautiful waterway. Smokehouse Bay condos are centrally located on Marco Island, reflect amazing sunsets over the water, and feature direct access boat docks to the Gulf.
This week there are 19 condos for sale on Smokehouse Bay with names like Bayside, Bayfront Place, Esplanade, Smokehouse Bay, Smokehouse Harbour, Village at Smokehouse Bay, Villa del Mare and Westview. They range in price from $225,000 for a 2 bedroom, 804-square-footcondo at Smokehouse Bay to $1.975 million for a 3,705-square-foot penthouse at The Esplanade.
The Esplanade area is reminiscent of an Italian village with upscale retailers, small specialty stores, fine dining, 72 luxurious condos and a 77 boat slip marina. The complex boasts three popular restaurants on the island – CJ’s on the Bay, Chop 239 and Mango’s Dockside Bistro. The Cold Stone Creamery and Starbucks provide refreshing breaks and places to socialize. The Artist’s Gallery and Jo-Ann Sanborn Everglades Artist shops are great places to see and buy local art. Rick’s Island Salon and Day Spa is well known for pampering clients and charitable activities. No wonder The Esplanade is the happening place on the island.
The Esplanade condos were built in 2003 and 2004 with high-end amenities, large balconies, partial to panoramic views of the bayand multilevel garage parking. Bayfront Place was built in 2002 and also has garage parking. Most of the other condos along the bay for sale this week were built in the late 1980s. The buildings range from two to four stories and feature boat docks with direct water access to the gulf, fishing and pools. Some of the condos have large garden areas and tennis courts.
All of these condos feature two or three bedrooms, the most desired condo size on the island. All except Bayside, Smokehouse Harbour and Westview allow pets of various sizes. Weekly rentals, when available, can be arranged at The Esplanade II, and all the other condos mentioned have a minimum 30-day rental period.
Ask any of the residents in this area, and they all agree that the value, central location and water views are ideal for them.
