Murphy beds, wall beds and sleep sofas are part of studio living. Studios were popular options in the early history of Marco Island before ever increasing condo sizes became the standard. The studios for sale were built between 1969 and 1972. Inland studios last week ranged in price from $110,500 for a 406 square foot Seabreeze South condo to $144,900 for a 408 square foot studio at Southwinds. Beachfront studios with a Gulf view ranged from $310,000 for a 534 square foot condo at Sunset House to $335,900 for a 534 square foot Sunset House North condo.
Many of these inland studios on Marco Island are located in desirable complexes that provide island amenities, like pools and clubhouses, and are close to the Gulf of Mexico beaches, restaurants and shopping. Descriptors like cozy, comfortable, very livable and great value come to mind when evaluating a studio condo option.
Since these condos generally have very similar floor plans, their personalities are as individual as their owners. Some have been updated with new compact kitchens and baths, color schemes and built-in furnishings. Other adorable studios for sale offer an opportunity for a new owner to add their personal decorating and coloring touches.
It is best to incorporate multi-functional cabinetry in the design of these condos. Small scale furnishings, well thought out storage possibilities, good lighting sources, and using light and bright coloring with a few colorful accents visually expands the space.
With such interest in the HGTV program Tiny Houses, condo seekers on a budget are thinking small and looking for value that living with smaller square footage can provide. For instance, maintenance fees for inland studios run about $240 per month. Studio fees on the beach are $450 per month. Inland studio real estate taxes are about $800 per year and studios on the beach pay about $1,700 to $2,000 per year. These condos can be rented monthly to offset the carrying costs.
Owners at Seabreeze South can have pets with approval, but none of the other active listings allow pets.
Studios are a great way to enjoy all that Marco Island has to offer at the best possible price and lowest operating cost.
