In his role as Hotel Manager, McGaunn is responsible for all day-to-day operations and financials of the luxury beach resort, including The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Naples, seven distinct dining experiences, expansive group function and meeting space, and 450 guest rooms and suites—all while reinforcing the high level of product and personal service excellence for which The Ritz-Carlton is renowned.
A veteran of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company L.L.C., McGaunn came to the Naples resort in 2010 when he was named Executive Assistant Manager, Rooms Division. Prior to that, he served as Managing Director for the Palm Beach office of Genii Capital, a hospitality investment management and financial advisory firm. Before joining Genii, he was General Manager for The Atlantic, a luxury condo-hotel and spa in Fort Lauderdale.
Between 1998 and 2005, McGaunn held additional leadership and developmental roles within The Ritz-Carlton organization at luxury hotel properties located in New York City, Boston, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Palm Beach, Amelia Island and Philadelphia.
From 2005 to 2008, McGaunn served as Chief Operations Officer of the Polaroid Company’s hospitality and entertainment group, where he led the development of commercial LCD multimedia technology for the hospitality industry. His role evolved into Managing Director of Polaroid’s real estate arm, for which he focused on hotel and resort development projects. Other hotel properties at which he gained experience early in his career include Walt Disney World’s Grand Floridian Beach Resort in Orlando, the Omni Mandalay Hotel in Dallas, and the Omni Independence Park Hotel in Philadelphia.
A graduate of Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania, McGaunn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Restaurant Management.
