Coastal Living chose the top 15 “Happiest Seaside Towns” from the Dream Towns lauded in the magazine over the past 15 years. The brand also placed a call for entries on its social media channels. Additional factors included ranking on the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index, percentage of sunny and clear days, healthiness of beaches, average commute times, walkability, school and crime ratings, education and financial security of the locals, geographic diversity, and “coastal vibe.”

The Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention and Visitors Bureau believes that interactions with Coastal Living’s editorial team over the past several months helped to elevate the publication’s perception of Naples’ “coastal vibe.”  “CVB public relations assistant Angela Aline participated in a VISIT FLORDIA-sponsored media mission in February that included a desk-side visit with Coastal Living’s travel editor,” said JoNell Modys, P.R. & Communications manager for the CVB.  “The information that Angela presented at that meeting seemed to hit on all cylinders and was very positively received.  Shortly afterwards, we issued a national culinary-themed press release describing the growing list of restaurants, food-themed events and the new guided Naples Food Tours, which perhaps lead to the publication’s reference to our “recent culinary boom.”
