Fall is in the air on Marco Island and the time is nearing for the Marco Island Fire Rescue Foundation’s 7th Annual Jerry Adams Chili Cook-Off. This fun community event is hosted by CJ’s on the Bay at the beautiful Esplanade, 760 N. Collier Blvd. The date is Saturday, November 9th, from noon to 4 PM with music by the Florida Straits.
The annual fundraising event is held in memory of Firefighter Jerry Adams, a 23-year veteran of the Marco Island Fire Rescue Department who lost his battle with cancer in 2012. Jerry was known for his great chili making, not only for the Fire Department, but the community as well. It is only fitting to honor him with this competition supporting the Fire Rescue Foundation.
Be ready to taste incredible chili recipes from the 2019 participating chefs, including many returning award-winning chefs. Come taste the chili of the Marco Island Fire Rescue Department, the Naples Fire Department, Mango’s Dockside Bistro, Island Country Club, JW Marriott, Hilton Beach Resort, Marco Island Yacht Club, the Kiwanis Club of Marco, Knights of Columbus, Marco Island Police Foundation, as well as the Marco Island Nature Preserve and Bird Sanctuary. Also returning, Cheryl Stokes with New American Funding, a three People’s Choice Award, the 2018 Overall Best, Sullivan’s Brigade and award-winning Spice Girls. The Foundation is excited to announce these new entries this year: Sunshine Sisters, Hideaway Beach Club, T-Mobile of Marco Island and Phoenix Roofing!
