The Education Foundation— Champions For Learning™ will present an Education Forum on November 29, 2012, from 7-9pm at the Philharmonic Center for the Arts. There, leading advocate in children’s education and The Education Trust, President, Kati Haycock will share models of innovation that impact student learning. National and local data along with examples of what is working to help students become college and career ready will be highlighted.

Kati Haycock speaks about educational improvement before thousands of educators, community and business leaders, and policymakers each year. The Education Trust in Washington D.C. works for the high academic achievement of all students at all levels, pre-kindergarten through college. The organization’s goal is to close the gaps in opportunity and achievement.

The Education Forum is co-chaired by Dick Munro and Linda Flewelling and is sponsored by the Philharmonic Center for the Arts and the Naples Daily News. Linda stated, “As a parent and a member of the business community, I encourage everyone to be involved and invest in education. It is critical to the success of area students. Attending the Champions For Learning Education Forum is an important way to learn about what’s being done nationally and locally to support student success.”

Alan and Beverley Horton whose passion and commitment have inspired our community will be honored as the 2012 Heart of the Apple recipients at the event in recognition of their tireless efforts to provide relevant learning experiences for Collier County students.

Tickets for the program and reception are $50 or as a benefit of an annual contribution. Contributions over $1,000 will help sponsor four educators.
