Within the last few years, there have been several different recommendations for when and how often women should be screened for breast cancer. On May 11, as part of the Healthy Lecture Series, Dr. Margaret Taha will discuss the data supporting breast cancer screening, along with the latest recommendations and newest diagnostic imaging tests.
Dr. Taha received her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. She completed a diagnostic radiology residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, and later completed a fellowship in breast and body imaging, also at Beaumont Hospital.
Dr. Taha is board certi?ed in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology. She has been practicing at Radiology Regional Center since 2009, and is experienced in breast imaging, including both digital and 3-D mammography, breast ultrasound, breast biopsy and breast MRI.
The Radiology Regional Center Mobile Mammo will be on site at IBERIABANK on May 11 from noon to 6:00 PM, performing private breast cancer screenings. Most screenings are covered by insurance and help may be available for non-insured individuals. Appointments are recommended by calling 239-936-4068.
