The Black Cat Quartet will appear in a classical music concert at the Marco Island Center for the Arts on May 12, 2016 at 5:30 PM. Tickets are $25, and seating is limited.
The Black Cat Quartet members have performed with each other in a variety of ensembles for over 10 years. The program at the Center will include J.S. Bach Cello Suite No. 6 in D Major, Mendelssohn String Quartet No. 3 in D Major, Op. 44, No. 1 and Four for Tango by Astor Piazzolla.
The group is a string quartet. It chooses repertoire that pushesthe boundaries of classical literature. Their true desire is to perform chamber music, which is what brought them together in the first place.
Scott Crowley, cellist, started his cello studies at the age of six and completed his formal musical training at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He later studied under the direction of Scott Kluksdahl, at the University of South Florida. He has performed with many well known groups and artists, including Mannheim Steamroller, Johnny Mathis, Frank Sinatra Jr. and John Secada.
Ariel Eliott, violinist, holds a Master of Music degree in Violin Performance fromthe University of Florida. She performs with the Orlando Philharmonic, the Southwest Florida Symphony, Gulfshore Opera and other ensembles throughout the state.
Dale Sandvold is a member of the Atlantic Classical Orchestra and a principal violinist with Palm Beach Opera Orchestra and the Boca Raton Symphonia. Dale has a Master’s degree in Violin Performance from the University of Miami and was the winner of the 1987 National Federation of Music Clubs Biennial Award.
Dana Tolan began her violin studies in her home country of Romania at the age of 7. After high school, she came to the United Statesto study with Professor Vasile Beluska at Bowling Green State University. She holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Violin Performance and is currently freelancing with various groups throughout the state.
