New to the gallery is Marco Island artist Judy Chinski whose ink and alcohol paintings are both colorful and subtly abstract. Her subjects range from local island scenes to a mix of flora and fauna.
Also new is a “Pop Up” art gallery that is now open on the lower level of The Shops of Olde Marco. When an empty store space pops-up and is available for a time, management often offers it to artists to fill. Each of the eight Local Color Art Gallery artists have work in the space ranging from abstracts, framed watercolors, shell art, found objects, photography to jewelry.Ever want to try you hand at painting? A list of classes is available for beginners and novice artists. Malenda Trick makes it all easy and fun, and even includes dinner!
The gallery also offers tea parties and a free tour of the gallery to groups looking for an afternoon of art and food delights.
The Local Color Art Gallery is open every day except Sunday. It is located next to Café de Marco on Royal Palm Drive, Marco Island.
