What’s new at The Local Color Art Gallery? This month a new member has joined the gallery. Children’s book author Shirley DeLong has co-authored (with her daughter Lauren) an adorable series of three books titled “No Sniveling.” Book one features Floppidy Loppidy, a super-sweet bunny plagued with extra-long ears that result in endless teasing and many silly and dramatic accidents. In all the books, there is an encouraging mother who teaches them to be strong and not “snivel.” They all soon find that their differences are what make them special, unique and heroes. The books are coupled with adorable plush animals.
Also, new for February, March and April, are FREE demonstrations to be given each Saturday at 1 PM. Each week, a different artist will be giving a demonstration or talk about the process that goesinto creating their specialties. Scheduled for February are Karen Swanker on the 18th and Betty Newman on the 25th.
The March schedule includes R. Clark Lindberg on the 4th, Joanna Sunshine on the 11th, Donald Sunshine on the 18th and Betty Newman on the 25th.
