Collier County Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired: 11th Annual Bingo Challenge Championships
(Naples, FL)–In observance of National Assisted Living Week® September 11th to 17th, the Collier County Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired will sponsor the 11th Annual Bingo Challenge Championships developed as a special opportunity to bring together residents, families and the surrounding community to celebrate *“Forever Proud”. “Forever Proud”, a patriotic theme, was chosen because the first day of National Assisted Living Week begins on the 10th anniversary of 9/11. This weeklong celebration is a demonstration of the commitment assisted living professionals feel when providing care and services to residents in their communities.
The 2011 Bingo Challenge Championships will take place on Friday, September 16th at the 1st United Methodist Church, 388 1st Avenue South, Naples, Barton Hall. Teams from area nursing homes and assisted living facilities will compete at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. The morning and afternoon winners are awarded a Gold Cup which they hold as the 2011 Bingo Challenge Champions and return the next year to defend. The 2010 returning Champions are the winning teams from The Chateau at Moorings Park and Homewood Residence.
The public is invited to join in the fun. Open BINGO will be played from 11:00 AM till 2:00 PM. Each player will be charged a fee to play for cash and prizes. All proceeds will benefit the Collier County Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
Members of the Collier County Sheriff’s Department Seniors Services and Crime Prevention programs will be on the “Prize Patrol” for the event. The Greater Naples Delta Gammas will assist vision & hearing challenged attendees with playing the game. The Naples Lions Club, the Naples Nites Lions Club and the Marco Island Lions Club will help to host the event.
