21st Century C.A.R.E. foundation, the national nonprofit foundation dedicated to serving cancer patients, survivors and their families, is pleased to announce that the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation has awarded a $9,000 Promise Circle Grant in support of 21st Century C.A.R.E.’s patient financial assistance program.
“We are honored to receive this donation from the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation,” says Solomon Agin, D.D., Chairman of the Board and President of 21st Century C.A.R.E. “This act of kindness will go toward helping childhood cancer patients and their families across the U.S. in their time of need.”
The grant directly aids 21st Century C.A.R.E.’s patient financial assistance program that provides help for cancer patients through basic expenses; such as transportation to appointments, groceries, medical supplies, temporary housing and childcare. The Foundation’s belief is that by not having to worry about these necessities, cancer patients can concentrate on what is really important – beating their disease.
The nonprofit 21st Century C.A.R.E. foundation is the corporate philanthropy arm of 21st Century Oncology, the nation’s premier cancer treatment network and largest radiation therapy provider.
“21st Century Oncology was built on delivering an exceptional patient experience,” says Constantine A. Mantz, M.D., Board Certified Radiation Oncologist and 21st Century Oncology’s Chief Medical Officer. “Receiving this donation further supports 21st Century Oncology’s mission to provide compassionate cancer care to all patients.”
The stated mission of the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation is to “support children battling cancer by funding programs that improve patients’ quality of life, treatment programs that increase survivorship and pediatric medical research dedicated to finding a cure.”
