What has readily become the biggest event of the season, the three-day Marco Island Seafood and Music Festival lived up to its reputation of great food and great music. “Each year we make a few changes and build on what works,” commented Stan Niemczyk, festival founder and chairman of the volunteer committee that organizes the event. New this year was the Seminole VIP tent, which was complete with a lobster dinner, and a home brew tasting competition presented by the Southwest Brew Crafters Club. In addition to the photos of all the fun here, there is more on how the various home brews ranked in our “Brew Crafts Club Brings Competition to Seafood Fest” article! New events and old favorites proved a successful combination, while perfect weather helped bring a big crowd outdoors.
Proceeds from the festival go to support the charitable giving of the three service clubs on the island: the Marco Island Noontime Rotary, the Sunrise Rotary and the Kiwanis. Sponsors of the event include the Seminole Casino, Physicians Regional Healthcare Systems, Condee Cooling and Electric, Mutual of Omaha Bank, and Winn Dixie.
