Mullet Festival 2019

Continuing the 35-year tradition, the rain couldn’t keep the crowd away from Stan’s Idle Hour for Mullet Festival 2019. There was fierce competition, but in the end, McKenzie from Wisconsin was named the 2019 Buzzard Lope Queen. Kat Ebaugh of Marco Island was named Runner-Up.

Celebrating the Return of the Key Marco Cat

The Marco Island Historical Museum held a celebration and ribbon cutting for the long-awaited return of the Key Marco Cat. Believed to have been carved by the Calusa Indians 500-to-1,500 years ago, the six-inch wooden statuette has returned to Marco for the first time since its 1896 discovery.
